Sigue la racha, buena o mala, de confirmaciones festivaleras en nuestro país. Según ha anunciado desde su siempre movido blog, The Kooks, Patti Smith y Tiga se convierten en los nuevos fichajes para esta edición del festival murciano. Lo hacen tras la confirmación hace apenas una semana de los madrileños Vetusta Morla, Editors y These New Puritans (estos últimos con su espectáculo Hidden Live, una propuesta en la que colaboran con una orquesta de 15 músicos y un coro de niños).

El cartel de este año, dejando a un lado nombres como Everything Everything, no nos servirá para hacer nuevos descubrimientos, pero si parece el más indicado para empezar la temporada de festivalera repasando la carrera de grandes como Suede o Patti Smith.

Interesante la lista que se ha marcado la NME, y para no romper con costumbres centenarias; polémica y criticada. Da igual si llevan razón o no, merece la pena darle un repaso. >Jim Carroll, durante un tiempo conocido como el nuevo Dylan, magnifico poeta punk y músico neoyorquino que alcanzó un gran reconocimiento durante los 70 y 80 ha muerto el pasado viernes en Manhattan, a causa de un ataque al corazón.

En 1978 alcanzó el éxito con uno de sus libros, considerado maldito por el sector más conservador de América, titulado The Basketball Diaries (traducido como Diario De Un Rebelde en castellano) donde desde una posición autobiográfica, un magnifico y brillante alumno relata sus experiencias con las drogas, el alcohol, la prostitución…

Esta magnifica obra, muy recomendada por INDIEcalling, fue llevada al cine de la mano de Leonardo Di Caprio, donde para variar actúa de una forma bastante aceptable.

También, aunque con menos éxito, hizo sus pinitos en el mundo de la música.
