Interesante la lista que se ha marcado la NME, y para no romper con costumbres centenarias; polémica y criticada. Da igual si llevan razón o no, merece la pena darle un repaso. >NUEVO ALBUM DE KINGS OF LEON, NATHAN FOLLOWILL OFRECE ALGO DE LUZ

Si hace cuatro días la NME sentenciaba con un colorido titular que Kings Of Leon estaban en el estudio grabando un álbum de «sonidos relajados y playeros», desde INDIEcalling (modestia aparte) nos apetece esperanzar a los amantes de la primera etapa de los Followill.

Aunque no saliera coloreado ni tampoco subrayado, durante la entrevista el apuesto batería Nathan Followill nos lanzó una buenísima noticia; muchos de los temas de su próximo álbum tienen el mismo patrón que los de su aclamado primer álbum, Youth & Young Manhood(2003).

Nathan también insinuó que el álbum tendría un sonido un poco más gris de lo normal, ya que había sido grabado en Nueva York, lejos de su querida Nashville.

>NME SHOCKWAVES AWARDS, LO MEJOR DEL ULTIMO AÑO PARA LA REVISTA BRITANICA

La revista británica, no tan prestigiosa como famosa, NME (New Musical Express), celebró la entrega anual de premios en el 02 Academy de Brixton. Pocas sorpresas en una gala amenizada por la música de todo tipo de bandas británicas. Los NME Shockwaves Awards siguen en su linea y aquí os dejamos a los ganadores de esta edición en la que Kasabian se convirtieron en los más galardonados.

Sin duda son una muy buena banda, pero la etiqueta de New Band para esta banda que ya lleva más de dos temporadas en «el ajo» no esta bien dada.

Al parecer nuestra perspectiva no estaba tan mal encaminada. (Crónica del concierto en MADRID- Palacio VistaAlegre – 5 de FEB. 2010).

Kasabian por su West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum

Los de Leicester, hilan sus hits con las mejores letras que han escrito hasta hora y sus canciones «no pegadizas» brillan como nunca.

Best Track (Mejor Canción)
Dominos, de The Big Pink

Este tema estreno nuestra sección: BANDAS DE LA SEMANA (Big Pink+Señor Chinarro) , y sin duda se merece este reconocimiento, en uno de los premios más discutidos.

Best Video(Mejor Video)
The Captain, de Biffy Clyro

El Fire de Kasabian partía con ventaja, pero Biffy «vestido» de Capitan abatido se llevó el gato al agua.

Best Live Event (Mejor Evento En Vivo)

Blur en Hyde Park

Mucha tensión acumulada por parte de Blur, acabó convirtiendose en un acontecimiento memorable.

-FESTIVAL:
Glastonbury

Un cartel que lideran Blur, Neil Young y «el boss» y escoltan: The Specials, Lily Allen, Fleet Foxes, Bloc Party, Animal Collective, Franz Ferdinand, Pete Doherty, Jarvis Cocker, Bon Iver, Nick Cave y sus Bad Seeds, Prodigy… se merece el galardon. El ambientazo hooligan a unos nos gusta y a otros les respugna, NME nos secunda.

Me alegro de que se aplauda de vez en cuando al moderneo, pero la mezcla de Skream no es para tanto -visto desde el prisma de lunes mañanero-…

Rara vez una mujer tan sexy tiene tanto talento, la lider de Yeah Yeah Yeahs se merece tanto este premio como el de enfoque más profesional. Bravo.

La edición 2010 de los premios de NME concluyo tras conceder a Paul Weller el premio Godlike Genius (Genio Divino), premio que el año pasado recibio la formación The Cure.

>THE HORRORS ATIZA A LOS PURETAS

La alegría inmensa gracias a The Horrors.

Estos chicos han hecho meterse miles de criticas por donde mejor les cabía a otros tantos miles de puretas, a muchos de esos que se reían de mi y de aquellos que apostábamos por los de Faris, me he reído en la cara de los que decían: “The Horrors es un grupo que con el tiempo empezaras a despreciar, no saben tocar” o también el clásico “esa gente ni a compuesto su propia música, son solo un producto de la revista NME. Los han creado solo para llegar al publico emo” a la que añadían la típica coletilla de “putos emos”.

A dichos sujetos les digo; ¡ZAS! En toda la boca.

Ahora callaros que sino no podréis leer. Pues bien, resulta que el producto de la NME dirigido a monopolizar el mercado emo acaba de demostrar con su segundo álbum; Primary Colours que no solo saben componer (cosa que yo no dudaba) sino que lo hacen a la perfección.

Han hecho enmudecer a todos los que les acusaban de hacer música “ que suena como la del Mortal Kombat” y han dado a luz a un álbum que de la mano de Geoff Barrow (Portishead) deja un gusto a My Bloody Valentine, Jesus & Mary Chain y que también me atrevo a comparar también a los grandísimos Joy Division.
Este CD me hace usar esa frase odiosa que no dice nada pero a la vez deja todo claro, es un disco redondo.
Desde el primer tema del álbum titulado Mirror‘s Image uno ya se percata de que esta gente ha madurado y de que lo que sigue tiene buena pinta.
El resto del álbum que no alcanza la hora de duración lo confirma.
